New Ladies’ Evening Bible study!
Beloved Disciple, The Life & Ministry of John by Beth Moore, Tuesday
Evenings 6—8 PM; September 9 — November 25. This 11-week, interactive
study includes personal, daily assignments and weekly, video-centered
group sessions. John referred to himself as “the disciple whom Jesus
loved.” Just as Christ took John on a lifelong journey into the depths of
His love, He will do the same for you. The Bridegroom’s love is unmatched
and inexhaustible, and He is waiting to lavish it on you, His beloved.
Books are $16 — pick them up at the first session.
Pastor’s Sunday School Class: “What’s Unique about Lutherans?” is
the name of an 8-week course taught by Pastor Setzer beginning September
14. This course is designed to be a “refresher course” for lifelong
Lutherans, or a “Focus on the Basics” for those considering membership at
St. John’s. It will help anyone to answer with substance the question,
“Why are you a Lutheran?” We’ll look at how Lutherans worship and relate
to other Christian denominations as well as other major religions of the
world. The class will be held during the Sunday school hour. Please let
Pastor Setzer or Janine, the church secretary know of your interest in
registering for the course. Call the pastor at 704-607-9663 or
704-552-8965.
