Band of Brothers
The Band of Brothers is made up of an eclectic mix of men of the church
and visitors who meet at a member’s home every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The
men meet for prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. Hearty discussions are
an integral part of the evening. Members of this lively group take turns
as leaders and range in age from their 40’s to 80’s.
Focus on the Family’s -- “The Truth Project”
Coming this fall to the Band of Brothers Tuesday night Bible study.
Recent studies reveal that only 9 percent of professing Christians have a
Biblical worldview. Because of this, today’s believers live much like non
believers; lacking a personal sense of significance and spending time and
money on things that fail to satisfy. We are in short, losing our
bearings as a people and as a nation. To counter this slide, Focus on the
Family has developed a twelve session DVD based small group curriculum.
This study is the starting point for looking at life from a Biblical
perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and
importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.
Join us beginning October 7 as we begin this exciting and
life-changing study. If interested contact John Bible (704 878-2695) or

His love, He will do the same for you. The Bridegroom’s love is unmatched
and inexhaustible, and He is waiting to lavish it on you, His beloved.
Books are $16 — pick them up at the first session.
Pastor’s Sunday School Class: “What’s Unique about Lutherans?” is
the name of an 8-week course taught by Pastor Setzer beginning September
14. This course is designed to be a “refresher course” for lifelong
Lutherans, or a “Focus on the Basics” for those considering membership at
St. John’s. It will help anyone to answer with substance the question,
“Why are you a Lutheran?” We’ll look at how Lutherans worship and relate
to other Christian denominations as well as other major religions of the
world. The class will be held during the Sunday school hour. Please let
Pastor Setzer or Janine, the church secretary know of your interest in
registering for the course. Call the pastor at 704-607-9663 or
704-552-8965.
